Grounding: Backed by Science

Dr. Jessie • January 31, 2022

It's not just hippie-dippie anymore (not that we have anything against hippies!) ... the data shows that regular earthing practices are beneficial to the bioelectric field and can have profound impacts on the human energy system . Grounding or earthing has been shown in the literature to do the following:

  • Relieves Pain
  • Supports Physical function
  • Boosts mood
  • Improves muscle recovery
  • Reduces inflammatory biomarkers
  • Improves (reduces) blood viscosity
  • Enhances Heart Rate Variability (HRV), which is an marker of stress

You don't need any fancy equipment (but in the wintertime, unless you're a Wim Hof practitioner, it might be nice to get a grounding mat for your feet r grounding sheets for your bed), you just need to kick off your shoes and put your feet on the earth.

WAYS TO GROUND or EARTH

  • Feet in the sand
  • Take a bath with Epsom Salts
  • Go for a barefoot hike
  • Grounding sheets
  • Hug a tree (like, for a long time)
  • Stand in your yard with your shoes off
  • Sit in a park with your hands touching the earth
  • Barefoot gardening
  • Gardening without gloves on (get some dirt under those nails!)
  • Swim in a river or the ocean
  • Lay your body on the earth

You can find links to high-quality Earthing Mats & Sheets at our Online Store . But nothing beats kicking off your shoes and standing with your feet in the grass!
