We are Moving to Telehealth Appointments Until Further Notice
We need to share information about upcoming appointments that may affect you. We will still be here to support you—but not for in-office appointments. TELEHEALTH The Healing Collective is moving all of our appointments to telehealth in order to protect you, each of us, and our community. You can still see your providers for your appointments at the scheduled time, and make new appointments by calling the office. Telehealth is available through Charm, our electronic health record. It is fully HIPPA compliant and secure. You will receive a link that will take you into your telehealth appointment. The link will be active 30 mins before your appointment. With telehealth, you and your provider will be able to see one another over the computer screen. HEALTH INSURANCE We can still bill Medicare for telehealth appointments! It appears that we can bill United Healthcare as well, although we are still waiting for complete confirmation from our insurance billing company. We are expecting to know the final rule for telehealth and United Healthcare billing coming this Monday. PHONE APPOINTMENTS Phone appointments are also an option for people who are cash pay (not billing insurance). The cost of phone appointments and in person appointments are the same. OFFICE HOURS We will have one staff person in the office Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm, although stay tuned for updates as this may change. You can still call the office with your needs and to make an appointment. We can also mail you supplements. SUPPLEMENTS We will mail you any supplements that you need and are waiving the postage fees in order to ease this partial closure. We are fully stocked, so let us know what you need. We also just ordered additional Vitamin C and Immucore—an immune-boosting formula. We recommend that you tend more carefully to your immune system health now. If you have not read our blog for the full details, here it is. The healthier you are, the less impacted you will be from the Coronavirus. This is a well-demonstrated fact! FSM If you are a current Physical Therapy patient, we are calling in an order so that we will be able to prescribe home units for those who will benefit from continued frequency specific microcurrent treatment at home. Once the units come in and are programmed, we will ship them directly to you. Dr. Jessie will be reaching out via phone individually over the coming week to develop your plan of care. PLEASE STAY HOME We also recommend that you avoid social events and stay home as much as possible. This article (click) and many others provide an excellent explanation of why. I encourage you to read it and pass it along liberally. In short, the article reports data and statistics from several other countries that are having outbreaks, and how their level and timing of community lockdown made a significant difference. Countries that responded immediately, like Taiwan, did an excellent job at preventing community spread—they are reported to only have 50 cases. In contrast, countries like China that waited to lockdown their community saw a significant, sudden increase of cases. Fortunately, after locking down has been implemented, countries are seeing cases reduce as soon as 2 weeks later. THE NUMBERS To bring this point home: Colorado's population is 5.8 million and we already have 77 positive cases and one death. Taiwan's population is 23 million and they have 53 cases and one death. The Coronavirus has been active in Taiwan longer than in Colorado. EXPONENTIAL GROWTH It is expected that there will soon be a dramatic increase of cases in the USA, and that our medical system will be overwhelmed. Many people are carriers of the virus but are not yet symptomatic and are spreading the infection. It is each of our responsibilities to reduce the spread of this infection. While 80% of people who contract the Coronavirus will experience flu-like symptoms and need care at home, 15% will need medical care and 5% will require life-saving measures. Countries that are currently being devastated by the number of ill people are having to choose which patients stay on the ventilator and receive oxygen, and which have to be cut off—and die. WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER On a personal note, I have spent many years woking in hospitals: it is hectic already, without a pandemic. I really feel for the hospital employees, in addition to the suffering patients right now. I want to do everything I can to not overwhelm our medical system and contribute to this pandemic. Please consider doing the same.

What if we thought of it As the Jews consider the Sabbath— the most sacred of times?
Cease from travel. Cease from buying and selling. Give up, just for now, On trying to make the world Different than it is.
Sing. Pray. Touch only those To whom you commit your life. Center down.
And when your body has become still, Reach out with your heart. Know we are connected in ways that are terrifying and beautiful. (you could hardly deny it now) Know that our lives are in one another's hands.
Reach out with your heart. Reach out with your words. Reach out all the tendrils of compassion that move, invisibly, where we can not touch.
Promise this world your love-- for better or for worse in sickness and in health as long as we all shall live.
